Hill Country Street Rods

April 2008

Has this not been a great month? The weather has been very favorable to get those rods out.

This month we had a Grand Opening for Advance Auto where John Majalca and myself showed up with our rods. We wound up getting some door prizes for our Show and Go. We also went to Wimberley as a Club. Robert Morris, John Majalca, Ralph Saucedo, Don Sevall, Steve Reeves and myself took a nice ride. The wives were with us also, except Kay, she was in San Diego on business. We had some guests that came along with us. I also called and included a friend with his 55 Chevy, George Brunner to drive along.

Some time in the summer we will have a drive out to Georges home and Garage. You will be impressed, I guarantee it.

After Wimberley we went to the Salt Lick for Bar B Que. Here we were joined with Zack Graham. All had great food and great friendship.

When we were all full we cruised to the Sonic Headquarters for our annual Goodie Bag Stuffing. There we met up with a few other members who were patiently waiting for us to show up. Being just a little later then expected, we went inside the building. I drove my truck and pulled the Clubs trailer for us to put the bags and door prizes into.

All the goodie bags were filled and placed into boxes for transportation to the Show. Then Don called the meeting to order and we had our meeting. Jobs were assigned and names were taken for those positions. We still need you there, so please come and help out the Club. MAY 3rd. if you forgot.

Hopefully we can have another club do our Car Show judging like we did in the past. We will see which Clubs show up.

It was discussed that we have 1000 more flyers made and distributed North of Austin. I took on that task and Anne had them made. On Monday April 14th, I took the flyers to many Auto parts stores and Auto shops in No. Austin, Round Rock, Pflugersville, Georgetown, Andice, Florence, Temple and Killeen. I distributed them and now have around 75 left. I will take these to the two speed shops on Ben White.

Many of us showed up at the Congress Avenue Cruise for LONE STAR Round-up. What a great night of fun.

Robert Morris joined up with the Chevy Club and Cruised to Burnet's Bluebonnet Festival. Just another great day to get out and enjoy the cars. Sure wish that some more of you had came along on that trip but you didn't.

Just remember, You can no longer say that this Club is not active. What you can say is that YOU just didn't want to attend. There will be more events during the year and more cruises in store for us.

Be sure to show up at the SHOW N'GO. We need you to be there!
