Hill Country Street Rods
A word from your President
The meeting in September was well attended. The Club members showed up and filled the tables we had arranged. The restaurant had told me they had a room for us but after we arrived they had us in the main dining room and it was noisy to hold a meeting. So after all had a good meal, we took the members outside to the parking lot and held the meeting.
One of the main topics that Kay brought up was the fact that the officers need to contact the owner of the Little River Academy Race Track and set plans for next year's event. It was decided that Kay would call him and set a date for the meeting. If at all possible to see if the track owner would agree on the same terms as this year's event. Robert Morris said that he would go to the track in place of Don who will be out of town and unable to make the trip. Perry Olander also volunteered to sit in on the meeting.
It was brought up to the members that the year is quickly coming to an end and plans need to get made for the End of Year Party. Dan mentioned that the party at his shop last year was nice but didn't want to do it again since we will be having a Bar B Que in the Fall. It would be nice to have it somewhere else. The members were asked who would like to make arrangements for the Clubs Party and Niki Huckabee volunteered to make the arrangements. More info to follow as it comes in. Perry Olander has stepped in to help Niki with these plans.
One question was asked about the music on Our Website. Wanted to know if it violated any copy write rules. The question was passed on to Wes our Web Site manager.
Don introduced his wife Donna to the members since she normally does not have time off from work on Thursday evenings. It was very nice to see her and have her with us.
At the last meeting 4 members brought their cars and 11 members wore club clothing. The two drawings were held and John Majalca won the $10 cash prize for driving his Rod to the meeting. The $5 cash prize for wearing Club Clothing was Steve Reed. Congratulations to you both.
Respectively submitted;
Kay Bowen
Secretary/Treasurer
