Hill Country Street Rods
Message from the Pres .........
Hey, Gang another important meeting coming up, at the world re-known restaurant, Threadgills, on north Lamar, you might even see the ghost of Janis Joplin. We need to be giving some thought to who you would like to see as officers next year. Start gathering at 6:30 pm and meeting will start at 7:30, or there-a-bouts.
Also we have decided to have our Annual Christmas Party on
Nov. 30th:
Annual Christmas party
at:
The County Line Bar-Bque
So, save some room after that Thanksgiving dinner for some great ribs
or brisket, a welcome break from leftover turkey, and as we always do,
the Chinese gift exchange, more about the details at
our
next meeting, Thur. Nov. 6th.
Also, I want to at this time to thank Dan for the time he has spent,
helping all year, to coordinate the numerous activities we have
participated in. It certainly made my job much easier and has kept
all of us so adequately informed via e-mail, thanks again Dan and
how can we forget Kay, for all her meticulous record keeping, it
has been a pleasure, and I really appreciate it.
See ya'll next Thursday,
Don
As the year come to an end, we need to start thinking of who will be our new officers. Since we do have a small membership this really limits our choices. I know that there is not one person in the Club who could not do the job. It is just a matter of who will step up. It only seams fair that we should have a rotation for all positions and everyone should take a turn. With that said, hopefully we can get someone to come forward. All positions are available, which one do you want?
End of Year Party has been set and Perry Olander took the job over and has a Party planned. We will be going to the County Line Bar B Que Restaurant on Nov. 30th. at 6:00pm. There we will have a wonderful meal and Perry has said we will be doing a gift exchange. The details will be explained at the meeting. Time and date was spammed out to members and this was the best date response from all. The record keeping during the year for attendance to meetings, actually showing up for events representing the Club and participation at the Show and Go, all have a purpose.
It was decided that those who participated at Show and Go, and were actually present putting on the event. This is our fund raiser and many members came out to support the Club by being there and working hard. The other members are also in the record as have attended meetings and other events during the year.
All of these members will have their meal paid for by the Club.
The other members and any guests will be paying $20.00 per person for the Party. If you have not participated in your Clubs activities during the year, you are asked to pay.
A few members are unable to attend different functions during the year and have sent me e-mails letting me know of your happenings.
Other members have sent me emails telling me that they wish to attend the End of Year Party but expressed that they want to pay their share since they have not participated much. If you were physically at Show and Go then your meal is on the Club.
Otherwise you are asked to pay. You can send your check to our Treasure, Kay Bowen or pay at the next meeting. Make the check out to HCSR, and mail to Kay Bowen, 10503 Oak Valley Trail, Austin, Texas 78736
At the last meeting a few members brought their cars and many members wore club clothing. The two drawings were held and Ralph Saucedo won the $10 cash prize for driving his Rod to the meeting. The $5 cash prize for wearing Club Clothing was Bobby Marshall. Congratulations to you both .......
Is was mentioned that the RaceTrack phone number was wrong on the website. We still are not able to contact the owner. It was agreed that the date for our event is to be May 2, 2008 at Little River.
Niki was down on her back and a card will be sent to her.
Respectfully submitted,
Kay Bowen, Secretary/Treasurer

The Cancer Cruise was a great example on friendship. A many car owners from many clubs participated and we raised a total of over $4,000 for Dell Children's Hospital Cancer Research.

If you would like to write a article or add pictures to the newsletter please send it to me and I will gladly add it to the print. Boy I have been getting bombarded with your response to this request as you can tell.
In the beginning of this calendar year it was decided that we would keep track of each members activity for the Club. So far many of you are right up there but there are a few who are falling by the way side.
Remember if you don't participate you won't be able to attend the end of year event at a special cost savings. So get active before it is too late.
